Help protect your family by protecting yourself

Protecting your family means being prepared for whatever life throws at you. In an ideal world, you’ll stay healthy and happy for your whole life. But life is unpredictable, and things can quickly change. That’s why we’ve designed our Critical Illness Cover to help you better prepare for the unexpected.

If you’re aged 18-59 when you buy Smart Family Life Insurance, you can apply to add this additional cover to your policy. The cover ends at the policy anniversary on, or after you turn 64. It provides a lump sum payment from your life insurance benefit should you suffer from a specified critical illness. You can choose a benefit amount of up to 50% of your existing Family Life Insurance benefit.

If you have an age-based policy, your Critical Illness benefit amount will automatically increase by 5% each year for the first 10 years. Your premium will also increase each year due to the benefit amount increases and your age. If you have a level policy, your critical illness benefit amount and premium will remain fixed.

If you were to fall ill, Critical Illness Cover could bring you and your family some much-needed relief from medical bills, loss of income, and other financial strains. This means you can focus on what matters; recovering and being with the people you love.
